Third Blog

I just started the 7th book in the clique series, It's Not Easy Being Mean. The Pretty Committee is back at school from a 3 week expulsion and are ready to take over and dominate the 7th grade again. The only way for the girls to come back was if they all joined a school sport. No one axcept for Kristen was even capable of playing a sport. After discussing, they chose to join the Siren's soccer team, since Kristen was already on it. After a few days of practice, the coach politely kicked the Massie, Alicia, Dylan, and Claire off the team. she said that they were bringing the team down and without them, the Sirens could have a shot at Finals. The coach also promised that she would talk t0 Principle Burns and excuse them from the sports requirement. I thought that it was pretty funny that the coach kicked the Pretty Committee off the team, just before they were about to quit.

The most popular 8th grader, Skye Hamilton, has a huge secret. She and her friends know of this secret room that is hidden on the Octavian Country Day school's property. Skye has given a CD-Rom to a few different cliques. Whoever can find a special key to the room first, is the new "Alpha." Massie, Dylan, Alicia, Kristen, and Claire, a.k.a The Pretty Committee, think they are going to find the key hands down, so they don't even try looking very hard for the key. But when they notice that many of the girls are ahead of them, they start to worry. One of the main rules that Skye mentioned in the CD-Rom was to NOT talk to her about the key or the secret room because it was against the rules. Now Massie is about to go to Skye's house and talk to her about something. I don't know what Massie is going to say, but I hope she doesn't ruin anything for the pretty committee. Massie thinks that she will automatically get the key and doesn't really pay attention to rules. I know that Massie can be sneaky, but i think that Skye will catch on to Massie trying to be friendly with her all of a sudden.

P.S. I commented on sylvie's blog.

Second Post

I am almost finished with Dial L for Loser. Because Dylan's mother has her own popular talk show, she was connections. Dylan, Alicia, Massie, and Claire get to meet the movie stars that are going to be starring in Dial L for Loser. With all of the drama that goes into movie making, one of the stars backs out, which fills an open position in a world wide movie. Alicia, Massie and Claire get an opportunity, from the director himself, to audition for a role in the movie. I wish I was Claire, Massie, or Alicia. They got to fly to Los Angeles in a private jet, stay in a five star hotel with complimentary designer clothing, and a personal driver. Claire ended up getting the part and I'm glad. She doesn't have as much money as the other girls and doesn't get everything she wants. Claire finally got something that Massie, Alicia, or Dylan can't take away from her.

Of course Massie and Alicia are very jealous, but they dont tell Claire that. Instead, they seek sneaky revenge. As the weeks go on, Massie and Alicia feel distant from Claire. She is always canceling plans or forgetting to even show up. Claire begins to realize that she's letting her real friends down, but is way too sidetracked with her movie friends. I can't imagine forgetting about my best friends for some movie stars I didnt even know that well. What Claire didn't know was that her movie satr friends weren't the kind of people she thought they were. To Claire, Abby Boyd (co-star in the movie) had so much in common and were going to stay friends for a while. To Abby, she and Claire were just MBF's; Movie Best Friends.
